From Development Gateway Bookstore:

Using an interdisciplinary approach, this collection of essays examines the recent economic and political collapse of Argentina. The volume's contributors bring a diversity of viewpoints as historians, economists, sociologists, journalists, and architects from North and South America. They explore how Argentina's collapse and its consequential dismantling of highly regarded prescribed models offers the opportunity for new approaches to economic, political, and social policies in Latin America and the world. Contributors include Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz.

Michael Cohen is the editor of Preparing for the Urban Future and the author of Urban Policy and Political Conflict in Africa. He is an economist and director of the graduate program in international affairs at New School University and president of the International Institute for Environment and Development, Latin America. He was formerly senior advisor for sustainable development and chief of the Urban Development Division at the World Bank. Margarita Gutman is a senior fellow at the Vera List Center for Art and Politics at New School University. She is also on the faculty at the school of architecture, design, and urban planning at the University of Buenos Aires and is affiliated with the International Institute for Environment and Development, Latin America.
