Op-Ed Columnist: Looting the Future

Op-Ed Columnist: Looting the Future

Paul Krugman critizeses on the Bush Administration, he says "Public Policy has been hijacked by private interests", which sounds exactly like what has happened in Argentina in the last 20 years.
I wonder whether it is not a "democracy failure" (making an analogy with "market failure"). Democracy has remained almost untouchable and unimproved over the last century.
But democracy is not an abolute term, and there are different "degrees of quality" in a democracy ranging from totally direct to totally representative. What worked well in the last century, could not neccessarily work appropriately today. Maybe it is time to improve democracy, introduce some changes that make the system to act more in the interest of the common citizen.
